Cyndal ABAD

Meet Cyndal Abad, the profoundly inspiring representative from Guam. Her transformative journey began at 18 when she was crowned Miss Guam—an opportunity that opened doors for her to fund her college education, travel the globe, and build a life of independence that broke generational boundaries for her family.

Professional Role and Tenure

• Cyndal Abad worked as a Publicity Assistant at DK, which is part of Penguin Random House, located in Manhattan, New York. At age 20, she was selected out of 2,000 candidates.
• She joined the company in the Fall of 2021, and her last day was Tuesday, April 30th, 2025.
• Living by the motto, "When our island calls, we answer," Cyndal returned to Guam at 25 to become a college instructor. 

Career Contributions

• She was recognized as a dedicated and creative member of both the Publicity and Marketing team and the larger DK US office.
• Her positive attitude, grace, and strong work ethic helped drive successful book campaigns, including Joshua Weissman's Baking Yesteryear and Elle Rowley's Agnes and the Sheep.

• Cyndal was an active member of the US DE&I (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) team.
