A Dream Realized

Leah Doran Captures the Miss Virginia Teen Volunteer 2027 Crown

The historic Patsy Cline Theatre at John Handley High School witnessed a night of triumph, talent, and profound gratitude on August 1st, 2026, as Leah Doran was crowned Miss Virginia Teen Volunteer 2027. In a highly competitive state pageant, Doran emerged not just as a titleholder, but as a testament to the power of community, faith, and unwavering dedication.

The Miss Volunteer America organization prides itself on its five principles: Empower, Educate, Entertain, Volunteer, and Inspire. Leah Doran’s journey to the crown vividly embodies all five. Beyond capturing the coveted title, Doran made pageant history by securing the very first Miss Virginia Teen Volunteer talent scholarship, a milestone she achieved through rigorous training with Claire Thompson and Dance Music Creations. This victory in the talent portion underscores the "Entertain" pillar, proving that Doran brings dynamic stage presence alongside her grace.

However, her victory speech and post-crowning reflections revealed that her heart truly lies in the "Volunteer" and "Inspire" pillars. Acknowledging the Salvation Army of Lynchburg, Doran emphasized her deep-rooted understanding of service. Her reign promises to be one of hands-on community engagement, fueled by the genuine compassion she cultivated long before stepping onto the Winchester stage.

What truly sets this new queen apart is her profound sense of community. In her heartfelt victory announcement, Doran expressed extensive gratitude to the village that raised her to this moment. From Executive Director Chip Brown, who orchestrated the beautiful weekend, to the Gravely family providing scholarships in honor of their son Cade, Doran recognized that a crown is never won alone. She highlighted the support of the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, her family, her friends, and her "fairy godmothers" behind the scenes who ensured she was stage-ready.

"I'm ready to start this new chapter with a full heart and Jesus guiding my every step," Doran shared, capturing the grounded and faithful spirit that will undoubtedly define her year of service.

As she prepares for the national stage, Leah Doran is already a standout. With a historic talent win under her belt, a fiercely loyal support system, and a deep commitment to service, the new Miss Virginia Teen Volunteer is poised to make 2027 an unforgettable year for the Commonwealth.
